Being a member of the Residence Life Staff team is a rich and rewarding experience. If you are looking for an opportunity to give back to your community and at the same time gain some valuable experience, you should consider applying.

Residence Life offers a number of job and volunteer opportunities. Click on each position to read a description of the positions. Please note that Don, Porter, and Residence Council Volunteers must live in an undergraduate residence during their term. Peer Review Board positions are open to York residence and commuting students.

Opportunities for FW 2015-16

Residence Night Porter

– Applications for Residence Night Porters will be available from September 5 to September 17, 2015. Limited positions are available. Please visit the Residence Life Staff page for a position description. You must live in the undergraduate residence for which you apply.* Candidates must be available for mandatory Porter and First Aid Training on September 26 & 27, 2015.
*Applicants for Founders Residence may live in any undergraduate residence.

Residence Council Volunteer

– Each residence has a Don of Leadership and Learning Opportunities (DLLO) who will be recruiting Residence Council Volunteers to assist with community building and programming throughout the academic year. Please speak to your Don or DLLO for how to get involved.

Peer Review Board Volunteer

– Applications for Peer Review Board Volunteers will be available from September 1 to September 11, 2015 for the Keele and Glendon campuses. Please visit the Residence Life Staff page for a position description. Volunteers are not required to live in Residence. Candidates must be available for mandatory training on September 19, 2015.

Residence Life Project Assistant

– More information will be available soon. Candidates must be Work/Study eligible and have filled out a Student Financial Profile online at sfs.yorku.ca/aid/sfp.

PRYSM Events Coordinator

– Applications for PRYSM Events Coordinator will be available from September 10 at 11am to September 17 at 4pm. Please visit the Residence Life Staff page for a positional description. The PRYSM Events Coordinator is required to live in Residence. Candidates must be available for a mandatory training on October 3, 2015. Candidates must be Work/Study eligible and have filled out a Student Financial Profile online at sfs.yorku.ca/aid/sfp.

Community Life Programming Assistant

– More information will be available soon. Candidates must be Work/Study eligible and have filled out a Student Financial Profile online at sfs.yorku.ca/aid/sfp.

Residence Student Advisory Group (RSAG) Representative

– This is an elected position within each of the 10 undergraduate residence buildings. Interested students should fill out a declaration page available on your Residence Facebook Group, or from your Residence Don. Campaigning will be held within your Residence from September 21 – October 2, 2015. Voting will occur during October House Meetings, and successful candidates will be contacted by the Residence Life Coordinator.
